Play to learn
Growing up is so much fun. So is learning to play the piano! Piano Pioneers for Preschoolers is the perfect foundation for musical development of children starting between 3 to 5 years of age. Students will discover the joy of music in a friendly, supportive atmosphere, alongside their parent or caretaker and fellow piano pals. Through play-based learning, children will be engaged in the learning process. They'll learn music theory concepts and music appreciation and discover the opportunity for self-expression while they explore music through keyboard improvisation, creative compositions with a wide range of music styles, fun activities, singing, movement, games, computer programs, and more. Here are excerpts of piano pioneers from the past and present, and some who chose to continue with their piano study after the preschool classes!
Music For a Lifetime
Start young. Start in the right direction. Piano Pioneers for Preschoolers is the perfect foundation for musical development. The small group classes inspire imagination, develop fine motor skills, develop rhythmic skills, afford students to experience quality of sound and discover principles of healthy, ergonomic, coordinate motion at the piano which can be applied to other life activitites such as computer typing, preventing future pain or injury such as carpal tunnel syndrome. With a healthy, proper start, students can enjoy a lifetime of music-making and music-appreciation.
Fun with Friends and Family
Enjoy the journey together with friends! The curriculum is easy to follow with parent pages to guide home play sessions. The classes are limited to 4 students (plus one accompanying adult per student)
so there is a wonderful, stress-free, laid back learning environment that allows students to thrive and enjoy their progress.
Choosing the Perfect Class
Children grow and learn at the fastest rate of their lifetime during ages birth-5, especially age 3!
Make-Believers Class (preschoolers age 3-4) - At this age, children love to engage in make-believe with friends. They are learning how to get along with others and often ask many questions during this time. They enjoy drawing, painting, play dough, making things, swings, and playgrounds, and lots of time and space to run, so there are many Dalcroze and fun movement activities incorporated into this class. The Make-Believers course, designed for students beginning at age 3&4, helps develop listening and rhythm skills through the piano, rhythm instruments, and movement games as well as introduce basic fundamentals of the language of music. Inspired by the younger preschooler's growing curiosity, the materials are visually stimulating and paced appropriately. Through song, dance, music appreciation and theory games, ear-training, and games galore, children along with a parent, will enjoy their start of their journey to the magical world of music-making!
WonderKids Class (preschoolers ages 4-5) - Four year olds have developed their motor skills and love physical activity. Their thinking shows in the things they say, draw, make, and do. "Why?" questions abound and they are able to see things more easily from another person's point of view. They love stories and funny words, building with large Legos, painting, make-believe play, and playing with others. They enjoy playgrounds and problem solving skills with simple computer games. The WonderKids is a unique course for children starting at ages 4&5 designed to give your child the best beginning possible for the development of basic music skills. Students enjoy numerous activities like ear-training, singing, keyboard and piano playing, ensembles, Dalcroze movement games, computer programs at keyboard lab, and theory and musicianship games galore. With a focus on parental interaction as well, you can both learn together as your child begins his or her magical journey into the World of Music!
